This game is very confusing to say the least. The enemies through the game either do nothing (or seem to do nothing) or are too slow to be an active threat. The gameplay itself of navigating rooms doesn't feel very inspired and score decreases too fast to be able to rack up any amount of points quickly. You also seem to be fighting the engine without actually solving the issue; replacing the "IT'S TOO SLOW" text with something like a loading screen would help presentation, and preventing enemies from attacking during this loading time would also prevent confusing deaths. I also have no idea on how any of this relates to the mutation theme.

The graphics itself are another theme, as it's very inconsistent with a lot of graphical elements from various sources and the rest of them being hand-drawn. Nothing feels cohesive. Music choice also is questionable, as did you do your chores chase theme or smth idk and Clair de Lune contrast the otherwise frenzied energy that the other tracks have. Also about music, please be careful with copyright. I don't know how many of the songs you used you are legally allowed to use.

No comments for the video other than that it's just gameplay. I unfortunately did the same thing, but it would've helped on your part if you had at least cropped and trimmed it as well. It's also audioless,

tbh about the enemies: i think i shouldve added the hints system
also about the music: dont worry, i only picked the ones i know ill be fine using in a placeholders, this goes the same as for sprites since i did use lots of placeholders by editing and collaging images

also about the enemies attacking on the loading screen: trust me idk why they attack while it loads since the code does halt them

also about the enemies being too slow: ngl its mainly cuz i needed to make them ramp up in dificulty as you pick them more (also they do act but again, i shouldve added hints)

also yeah the rooms idea aint original, i was inspired by games like crashout and nullscape


(also the score is mean to increase faster and faster the later you are in a game, but i shouldve clarified that)

but also: i do respect your review and value it, since i did kinda rush it
