Cool idea! I like the cranking mechanic to keep the light bright and the atmosphere is spooky. Good artwork and sound design/music and I like the little notes that give some context and narrative details.

I found the enemy creatures pretty hard to detect even with the lighter glow they had in the dark so I got reset a couple of times without realising why it happened. I did get better at predicting/remembering their movement after a few failed attempts and it definitely adds to the tension and urgency of recharging the torch. A short in-game tutorial would probably have helped me to know what to look out for on those first few attempts but I recognise it's only a 1 week project!

Would be interesting to see it further developed and the mechanics fleshed out outside of the game jam :)

Thanks, really appreciate it! We actually did plan to add a short tutorial, but we ran out of time. We also wanted to avoid making the enemies too obvious since keeping that uncertainty was part of the tension we were going for. The idea was that you’d constantly be spinning your character around to point your flashlight in different directions and keep an eye on your surroundings.
