I really wish this game was just the puzzles without the turn-based system... I want to just toy with the puzzle until I have that 'aha' moment like in most puzzle games, but the turn-based system incentivizes staring at the puzzle without moving it for minutes on end.

The puzzles themselves are really good. I could see myself playing an app game like Flow Free with this mechanic. And you've made it very visually clear and smoothly animated. Well done on that!

Thanks! I do really enjoy the puzzles themselves as well, but I found it difficult to come up with some way to incentivize playing at all without that. I wanted there to be some sort of progression that you could feel like you were making while still allowing for fully randomly generate puzzles each round, and felt a turn system worked best. A "free play" mode or similar would definitely work well; just give unlimited turns and let you go as long as you wish. If I continue this idea I will likely look into options for progression other than the turns, since it was something I was unhappy with as well at times. I do also hate sitting there staring being the best strategy. Another note, however, is I realized without limited turns I would end up just shuffling the blocks randomly until I stumbled into the solution and the completions felt a lot less rewarding, though that may just be a me problem.

The visuals and animations were super fun to work with as well! I came up with a basic animation system using Pico-8's coroutines and it turned out super great. I would've loved to add even more detail to it given the time but gameplay sadly takes priority.
