Got to 19.300 (lvl 47 IIRC, with the cross weapon) after a few attempts to get my bearings!  I like the old school graphics and juice of the bullets.

Because of the number of enemies on the screen, it is very hard to NOT fire, and I thought the manual spinning felt more like a chore than a fun game mechanic.  I could also cheese this by not holding the fire button and building spin by clicking LMB really fast.  I ended up maining the cross weapon because I don't know how I can be expected to aim accurately while also trying to spin wildly, I feel the two mechanics clash with eachother.

I also found it exceptionally hard to charge the ultimate, and then once I did, I found them to be underwhelming (a few I don't even think hit an enemy).  IMO it should have been either much easier to charge or (my personal choice) make it an absolute screen obliterator that rewards the player for finally charging it.

I hope this didn't sound too harsh, I liked the basic game loop, but I wanted to give constructive feedback.

The reason why the ultimate was so weak was because you were using cross laser.  It had probably the strongest primary, with high damage, high piercing and firing in 4 directions. To balance this, we made the ultimate the weakest one. Anything the ultimate hits will be killed but it has a hard time hitting much. Other weapons have significantly stronger ultimates. The shotgun has an ultimate similar to Cross Laser, however instead of firing in 8 directions, it fires in 36 directions and is basically a screen clear.

Also you say it was hard not to fire and to build ultimate. It’s usually a better strategy to build up your spin in one go and then shoot for a few seconds only to continue the cycle. The only break to the cycle being firing at the chasing enemies. If you fire too much your damage becomes really low.
