Yeah that's one of the pain points I ran into during my testing too, just ran out of time in the end to implement an elegant solution to continually displaying numbers for the user. I was kind of thinking things could get more chaotic and the numbers started appearing in random parts of the screen, but I did not get around to implementing that.
