I'm glad you found the upgrades fun! Spinners were the first thing that came to my mind when the theme was announced X)
Actually the number of points are calculated using a bunch of statistics - including upgrades, combo value and the speed of the spinner itself. I will try to make it more clear in future projects!
I will do my best to improve the ui and the artstyle in the future, same with music!
