Thank you for your feedback on our game! Paper Mario was definitely a big inspiration for the art style, but the way the camera pans being similar to Paper Mario is pure coincidence. It's actually a mathematical coincidence, I would say, because the camera's movement uses linear interpolation to smooth out the movement. I'm guessing Paper Mario used something similar, since linear interpolation for these kinds of use cases are common in programming.
The gameplay is definitely the roughest part of the game, as one of the fans of the PC  of our other programmer suddenly broke in the last bit of development. I suddenly had to figure out a way to finish the game, so sadly, we had to cut two more enemies from it. Another thing that hampered development was definitely our experience, as this was the first game jam for many of us (me included).
I believe it still turned out amazing thanks to the artists' work and our most incredible sound designer/composer, whose sounds enhanced the game ten fold.
Anyway, that's all I had to say. Thanks for playing and reading my yapping xdx lol frfr.
