I feel guilty about this, but I actually just finished on my very first run by simply escaping from each battle X{
Added later : Actually not that guilty as this counts as my revenge for standing still and letting the timer run down in Yuki-onna :P
Admittedly this is totally against the spirit of the game, but since there is no reward for fighting the enemies and this is more of an attritional route planner then I figured my resources would stretch further by ending the battle as quickly as possible - usually by running away!
I think this would work better with on map symbol encounters with a mix of some compulsory stationary ones placed at bottlenecks and others that follow the player around the map waiting to punish them for route planning mistakes and wrong turns.
I appreciate this would have involved a bigger workload and you're struggling with your output a little now so I'll let you off XD (only this once haha)
I think the concept and premise were really good and without giving any backstory the game painted it's own dark and serious tone that oozed out past the rm2k assets that we see in our lucid dreams by now :)
Wishing you a speedy revitalization :)
