I'm going to be very honest: You have a complete lack of awareness of what 'yandere' is. The fact you took time out of your day to write a hateful essay of all things on a free piece of media that is clearly marked as 18+ with all proper tags and warning on it speaks volumes of the kind of person you are. The fact you also speak poorly of those who enjoy this fictional work again, speaks volumes of you as a person and nothing flattering at that.
You talk a big talk of how 'how dare this 18+ game have 18+ themes', and also disparage the game repeatedly based purely on the fact you are entirely ignorant of not just the themes within, (yandere), but also openly state you've not played a lot of VNs, and also judge this FREE game thinking its 'minimal effort' when looking at all the unique animations, scenes, backgrounds, unique poses, and art, its actually already surpassing some licensed and published titles by mainline companies.
This game is not for you, and while that is a fine and valid thing, YOU are the person who decided to make an essay taking pot shots at it's creator, fans, and the entire VN community repeatedly all for what? Some kind of moral high ground? You are literally a living embodiment of having no life and needing a hobby that isn't being a genuinely toxic and depressing person.
Before you shit on media you don't like, at the very fucking bare minimum, know the media's audience and it's themes- Look up yandere media- you'll be surprised how popular it is especially in mainstream media.
Play more visual novels and learn typical visual novel tropes and story beats. Just like hero tales in fiction, VNs tend to follow a general story line flow.
As someone who has played over 50+ VNs, over 20 of those being mainstream big house published titles, this game is actually very well polished for being not just indie but a single person show! It's an impressive feat! On top of that, this game utilizes a lot of advanced storytelling techniques in VNs that are not often commonly seen in Ren'py engine works. It follows a typical romantic storyflow and has many of the common and uncommon otome tropes, as well as the typical yandere story beats. It is a fun/relatively new take on many 'classics'.
Learn for one thing, basic human fucking decency about what a review is and is not, and secondly, learn the fucking media you're consuming before you begin to criticize.
So here is my rebuttal essay, and enjoy knowing you got a rise, but more, in knowing you are in fact, worse than the very characters you find repulsive in how you speak and obviously treat others.
Like damn, at least Harlequin doesn't hide that he's a monster, you try to pretend you're actually a decent person. That's got to be rough.
