Bought the game on steam but thought I'd leave a comment here.
I did enjoy the game. Nice amount of booba. Cute story.

The main thing that disappointed was that I couldn't really affect the story. It felt more like a visual novel with no branching paths. While mainly repeating the same formula of puzzle throughout the game about spotting features and applying some basic logic rules, with more rules as you went in. I also didn't quite enjoy the way that the game enforced making sure I played the game as best as I could, especially since it meant restarting the same day several times to make sure I didn't miss something minor.

I did also get slightly annoyed by some potion effects not really scaling in the way they should. Honestly I should've written this comment sooner because I've managed to forget any specific examples. I just remember that sometimes I'd use a potion and expect a change on the character and not see it.

Overall I did enjoy it, even though I tried it while expecting something different from what it actually was.

I just think it would have been nice if reoccuring characters were affected in some ways by what potions they had previously actually ingested, rather than being forced things depending on which characteristic they are forced to exhibit, (this would need a very different gamestate saved rather than just the score per day, and if you lost or not, that is currently the case) and if all potion interactions actually did something, (except when the rules dictate that they shouldn't, of course).

Anyways, I'll definitely try your new game at some point. Might wait for it to mature a bit more first.

I think you should try it out now and give feedback to encourage him or give advice.

Glad you enjoyed!

A lot of the reason the game is the way it is instead of your suggestions is simply: I’m a one man team, and multiple pathways and dynamic character evolution would take magnitudes more time to program.
