I also like Boriel's compiler but for this jam I think it would mean others would be at a disadvantage.
No machine code allowed for this particular Jam I'm afraid. But you can always do you compiled version after the jam separately.
Part of the fun is to work within the limits of BASIC. Like the classic Football Manager for instance :)
