From what I understand of the rules, those games shouldn't be indexed, and it seems to be an error on Itch's part.

Use the button at the bottom of those games to report them so the staff can review them.

Paid games that are marked as nsfw are not categorically restricted from being indexed. There are hundreds of those. You think Itch made a mistake for all of those?

That one top seller is on Steam. You can pay on Steam with credit card...

Itch just took most nsfw games from the index as an emergency measure. Why that appeased the payment processors is beyond me, but it seemed to have taken pressure from Itch.

Oh, and you also can still pay for adult games on Itch. With credit card powered paypal.

From what I understand from that post and what's been said on Discord, it seems to imply that paid games with NSFW content are not eligible for indexing.

If this isn't actually the case, then I've misinterpreted that information. Could you please point me to where the staff specifies which games with NSFW content are eligible for indexing?

As far as I remember this was not a strict causation with no way back and no exceptions. They just delisted everything to get breathing air and would sort it out later. The post you linked has this:

We are still in ongoing discussions with payment processors and will be re-introducing paid content slowly to ensure we can confidently support the widest range of creators in the long term.

So one guess, for some of the games would be, that they might be such slowly re-introduced games. Maybe some tests or special circumstances.

Does not matter. The point is, that this was and is not a 100% thing.

Regardless of what we say, the best thing is to report it to the staff so they can determine whether or not it's correct for them to be indexed. I'm inclined to think it's a mistake, since it would be difficult to determine the criteria without playing and knowing each game in depth.
