Oh, no, I meant that text-based games can't "lie to you" by hiding behind pretty visuals. The text itself should be free to lie as it pleases I think, within reason
Don't worry, I figured that was what you meant. I just had to say something in support of unreliable narrators, because when they're done well (I somewhat recently read Harrow the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir) there's absolutely nothing quite like them!
