Thank you very much for your kind words! I will have to read Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha and Tricia Hersey's writings because both of their work sound right up my alley! You're absolutely right, it can be meaningful and radical to take things at your own pace; I find that there is so much focus on the immediate and constant, both in video games culture and in many aspects of daily life, and it is exhausting to try and "keep up". I will admit that sometimes I find myself falling for the "you have to do it now" mindset, but thankfully I'm getting better at recognizing them and prioritizing my energy levels and what is best for me over some imagined expectations.

Also, I wanted to say that I love "i will not survive you", it's extremely well written and the visual and sound design really enhanced the overall narrative!

i believe it's Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha's book Future Is Disabled that talks the most about time/speed/rest like this, from what i remember. it's really lovely! and 100% agree regarding the exhausting expectation of immediacy. i'm working prioritizing my energy, too! easier said than done. :) this also makes me think of a video i saw on instagram a while back where the poster said they were trying to focus less on how productive/efficient they could be while completing a task, and focus instead on how physically and mentally relaxed they could feel while working.

wow that's so kind of you, i really appreciate that!
