Thanks :3 That’s how I see games right now too !

The game is a knife was a catalyst in having the structure “the game is a” but I didn’t try to follow it more than that ^^ I felt that the impact on such a short text was noteworthy, and I liked this work so I chose to be transparent about it ✨

Thanks for explaining! The short ones are straight to the point and clear. I like them. Your writing made the most sense to me, I really felt the meaning, of games for the world.

I've read many manifestos now, and I was completely stumped about it, just started being here on Itch.io. I think your project inspired me the most, to think about games and it being around life. I thought about you using a catalyst, so I felt like I could try that too, in my first jam.

I wonder how you came up with this writing? Is it personal experience?

I'm bad with words, so I kept writing about games are this and that, things being about other things, and eventually I condensed my ramblings into one page. My manifesto feels blunt to me, but I kinda managed it by copying your format. So, this is nice. I ended up with something different because of my condition. I hope that I can connect with other devs and people like you somehow.

Your manifesto is very sweet and heartfelt 💖 I’m happy that I inspired you to make it ✨

About A game is a gift, yeah it is very much a personal experience ^^ I’ve been making games for over 20 years and slowly realised that I made them in part to connect with other people. I think seeing the secret santa jams (jams where you make a game for someone litteraly) made me realise that this was an option and I started thinking about games as a gift a bit more! Then when my current project, Contenir (https://naejdoree.itch.io/contenir) started meeting it’s audience I realised once again that this game wasn’t only about self reflection but was also a gift to my community. I realised that by seeing how people played it, talked about it and supported me through this adventure 💖 And I want it to be a gift even more to return the love I received from it even more :3
