Wow, I'm very impressed by how much stuff there is here. Honestly was kinda overwhelmed at the start.

I like all the variety of ships, especially how you can play as either small fighters or as giant motherships. 

In terms of completeness: I mean, there's a ton of content to explore. 

In terms of fun: Maybe I just suck, but I feel like I'm dying constantly. I'm often surrounded by ships on all sides, or getting sniped by ships I can't see. Since I'm dying so much I don't really get to interact with the upgrade system which I imagine would allow me to survive longer. 

The time limit on choosing a ship prevents me from making an educated choice on what to play as, so I just have to choose at random and hope for the best.

But don't get me wrong, that doesn't mean I didn't had fun! The core gameplay of flying around and shooting is very fun. I had fun trying all the different ships, exploring the different modes, and being able to design your own ship is very cool!

As you can guess by my own submission, I like space shoot-em-ups, so it's cool that there's another in this jam! :)

That's very good to know! I definitely got carried away a bit with designing ships and levels... That was definitely the most fun part of developing this game for me!

Some of the levels definitely throw you into the action right away, but not all of them are like that and some ships are better at handling that than others. I tried adding in a difficulty system that affects enemy spawn rates and # of lives, but I am thinking that if I continue working on this in the future the best way to go would be to add a kind of campaign that brings the player through the different maps in order from easiest to hardest. Is that something you'd be interested in?

As for the timer, I implemented it when I was working on the Survival level because without it the player could just wait out the clock in the ship select menu. I probably should have it be longer or removed altogether in the other levels though.

Also, I checked out your game and liked it! I like the cartoony spaceship style and I think you did a good job with the progression system, which is admittedly a weak point of my game.
