I really like this game. The mechanics are well-made, the UI is great, and I like the music and character designs. I'll be eagerly watching future versions.

That said, I did notice one pretty glaring issue with the current design, and that is that of all the available "tasks", only scanning and refining actually have "idle" mechanics. Navigation, mining, and research are all only needed now and then and are easy for me to do as the player character. Pretty early on into the loop I settled into having one crew member scanning constantly, one refining constantly, and then I'd navigate to asteroids, mine them real fast, and repeat that, just making elixirs when I had the materials. It made the 3rd girl I could recruit kind of useless. I sent her on expeditions instead which is fine, but then she didn't really earn enough XP to upgrade her and see her with larger breasts, which is kind of the point.

I see in the patch notes that you're adding a four recruitable girl, and I'm not sure I understand what we'd be doing with her except for sending her on expeditions. I think this part of the game needs a major re-work. Maybe you make it that once we reach an asteroid, we drop a remote mining probe that works while we're away and takes a long time, so that we have to keep someone assigned to mining always? Maybe we actually need to research the elixirs before we can craft them? or maybe we start with one crew member and the player can't take any actions? Not sure but something needs to change or else we'll never need more than two crew aside from expeditions, which, again, doesn't let us engage with the level up system.

In the next update (0.9.0-beta), the scanning, navigation and mining tasks will be fully automatable. You need a crew member assigned to each of these tasks to constantly find new asteroids, automatically navigate to the next asteroid and automatically mine it. This makes the game a lot more “idle”.

In the end, the goal of the game is to level up the crew members. The expeditions give you artifacts, which essentially are temporary buffs. They are useful to progress faster so sending crew members on expeditions is an important aspect of the game too. That’s one of the reasons why I’m adding more crew members.

One important detail is that if you do a task yourself, without assigning a crew member, no crew member gets the XP. So it’s always useful to assign a crew member to a task. The idea to start with one crew member and the player can’t take any action is interesting. I’ll have to think about this but it might make a lot of sense to change that. Thanks for the detailed feedback!
