I was double-clicking on "ToonRoll2.x86_64" and nothing happened. But as you said, when I run the program through terminal, the game loads as expected. I will play the game and give the feedback on the main comment thread.
in linux to run an executable you should give the executable file the permission to be an executable, it's confusing, you can either run from the terminal or give it permission by right clicking the file go to propreties and permission and allow to run as executable
