The art is nice and the puzzles are challenging, but I got serious motion sickness from playing this :/

A couple pieces of feedback:

  1. Controls are slippery by design from a comment below. Personally, I disagree with that design choice, the challenge should come from the solving the puzzles and not the controls.
  2. The camera would probably feel better if it only starts panning when the character gets close to the edge of the screen. Right now the constant movement makes the game feel very dizzy.
  3. Same with the background, either remove it completely or have it move together with the platforms and tiles. At the moment it’s difficult to look at for long period of time.
  4. For the tiles that you can walk through, stronger visual contrast would help distinguish them from the other tiles.
  5. When a clue is given, ie a router points to a door, I would prefer the level designed in a way such that it doesn’t point to something far off screen.
  6. Some of the levels could probably be split into two smaller levels to make them easier to digest.
  7. A larger font size would help a lot. Right now I’ve been skipping the story because the text is difficult to read while already feeling dizzy from the movement.

This is about as far as I got. I already took a break, and I kinda want to continue (the game isn’t bad), but I honestly don’t think I should because I feel like if I keep playing I might feel sick for the rest of the night.

Heya! Very fair feedback indeed. When it comes to the movement, I wasn't the one working on it but it was something that we've had a problem with since the very start, juggling between it feeling too stiff and being too slippery, and in the end we just didn't have enough time to balance it out properly. I completely agree with you on that. I did work on the parallax background logic, and I'm not satisfied with it either, but same as the movement, I just didn't have enough time to fix the issues I have with them. We decided the game should have 5 levels, each representing one area, for story reasons. I do take responsibility for the design of the final 3 levels however, and I do appreciate the feedback on the clues. We have been planning a little post-jam patch for the game and we should work on most of these issues! I'm sorry you felt sick!
