Great work really captures that retro vibe. I wish the jump didn’t eat away at the jetpack fuel… Maybe have the player hold Space to fly instead ? Also, consider adding hit indicators for enemies, sometimes I couldn’t tell if my shot landed. Giving the player just a bit of HP would help too. Overall, great game!

Thanks so much for the feedback! We actually designed it so that the player could not jump and had to solely rely on his jet pack. However, that’s a great suggestion and we’ll definitely revisit that idea. In regard to the enemy hit feedback, I wanted to implement both a shake and a white flash. But using the tint feature wasn’t working for me. So, we had to settle for just the shake (which perhaps was too subtle) in the initial release. We are working to fix that and should be ready in our next update.
As for the HP, that’s another area we are reevaluating. Adding checkpoints seems to be the most requested feature. Maybe that alone can help with the difficulty. But we are exploring all options, including a HP bar.
