I basically ended up putting them closer together and playing it like Galaga with a 4 streak attack! :V
Although, if this were more turn-based, or slower paced with some tweaks, it could have some stronger legs.

That's a great idea! Love me some Galaga, so I love to hear it. I definitely think it needed a bit more time in the oven to come together mechanically, and when I pursue this idea in the future I'll give it some more care instead of tuning the values for the last hour or two of the jam.
