hi, when you release this on itch can you upload it in .tic form as well, or maybe add the .tic to steam if that'd be easier? i want to play it on my handheld and it doesn't seem to work with the exe it was released as on steam (assuming theres no security problem with that, i genuinely don't know what a tic file is beyond it being the thing my handheld wants so sorry if i'm basically asking "hey can you upload this thing's source code" or whatever). very excited to play and hope release is going well!

unfortunately i cannot because i’m currently using so many characters of code that the .tic format doesn’t support it anymore :(

it’s basically the TIC-80 game cartridge format, but i had to resort to using a custom version of TIC-80 that supports bigger cartridges because i ran out of space a month ago. :/

ahh, damn. i'll still be playing it happily on pc anyway, and hopefully someone manages to port it to batocera someday! thanks for answering!

I want to play on handheld too. I have two of them: one is an Arm64 Linux, and another is an Android (Retroid). I know people emulate Steam games on Android using GameNative, I still haven't tried. And for Arm64 Linux there is PortMaster. They can run emulating x84_64 binaries, but we get geeked out when we get the native architecture, haha.

But I know that porting things take quite a time troubleshooting, and that time would be better spent doing some post game patches.

Edit: I just tested on GameNative and it works! It is just a bit funny that it starts in a window, but going to the menu and setting to fullscreen makes it play great!
