Here is the specifics https://itch.io/docs/creators/html5#zip-file-requirements

In summary

  • The ZIP file should not contain more than 1,000 individual files after extraction.
  • The maximum length of a file name including path should not be greater than 240 characters long.
  • The size of all the extracted content should not be greater than 500MB.
  • The size any single extracted file should not be greater than 200MB.
  • The filenames are case sensitive and should be encoded as UTF-8

Your number 206,591 KB is pretty close to borderline... 1MB = 1024  KB... so 206,591KB = 201.75 MB....

if you can squeeze out about 2MB you should be fine. When you zip up your project, perhaps don't let app default zip for you, you can tweak zip to give you maximum compression. Make sure you choose the correct settings. And like others already suggested, perhaps reduce some of the resources you added, like sound make sure you don't use wav or mp3, change to ogg. will significantly reduce your file size.

Hopefully this helps... i know it is pretty late as i just finished my own game.

If you have finished yours, let me know i wonder what you have made the game so large in size. Mine is only 44MB..

My game is here, when you have a chance please give it a try and let me know what i can improve upon. Thanks!
