You can follow the steps on the Info and FAQ section of the discord to see if its just using the CPU instead of GPU, but this issue is not tied to the game.
I spent some time trying to fix this issue by myself. Turns out I just needed to run the game in compatibility mode for Windows 8. Have no idea why but it did help.
