Replying just to let you know that there is now a cursed offline .exe version available for paranoiacs. It significantly damages the horror experience and actively breaks the lore, setting, and overall vibe, but apparently some people prefer surviving emotionally over immersion.

Only because BOX FOX successfully convinced me to do it.

I mean, come on guys, I’m two clicks away from the full legal names of half of you. We can stop pretending this is still the web of 2007.

It's honestly just about what feelings I want video games to give me. Excitement: yes, immersion: sure, true discomfort: no. I truly understand that your game intends to be immersive and scary, but you have to respect that probably most people who will play and rate your game won't be looking for that experience and won't find it pleasant. I don't think you have any foul intents, but you gotta more understanding of people's hesitancy to play your game. It's not so deep, it's a 3 hour game jam people do for fun.

That’s fair. Horror as a genre is already not for everyone, and some kinds of horror are for even fewer people.

What genuinely surprised me is that I did not expect anyone in 2026 to still seriously worry about cameras, and it especially never crossed my mind that someone might think I actually want to stare at random people through their cameras. Like why would I willingly do that to myself!?

But I do understand and respect the desire for privacy.

Still, art is something that pushes you beyond your normality, and if you don't make art, then why are you doing it at all?

You made a wonderful and amazing piece of art at this jam, by the way.

Yeah I totally get your point. Games that don't make you feel anything are just not as cool.

You're very kind for saying that about my game! I wish I had the courage to try yours so I could say the same. But I am looking forward to see what you cook up for next jam :)
