Looks interesting although I hesitate to comment on anything without knowing anything about the prestige system. spires seem like they should reveal more though. EDIT FOR CLARITY: thumbs up on the game, oddly enthralling.
Other than revealing the nearby area, they also reward prestige-points, the Demo has the prestige locked; which is why repairing spires might feel not rewarding enough...
