I found using arrows was easier to use to use with the shooting. It was mainly the slow down I had bit of problem trying to use, crtl would be fine but it triggered other things like changing the window size and tab was not easy for me to use combine with shooting. So maybe X key and H key or other keys close to the shooting keys be easier
