I think your issues might just be fixed by prestiging more often. It resets all the power ups. Personally I like to pop the 2x money right at... I think it's 1000, when it switches from being basically all black bricks to regular bricks
I just took the 2 gold from level 20 and prestiged over and over until I maxed everything out, then the game is too easy.
