Cool game, I did manage to beat it. I do think the map is a little confusing but I understand it's cause of the Yume Nikki inspiration. I really like the character portraits but a lot of the art did look like down scaled images with more harsh colors which again I understand is part of the mood. There's some cool mechanics but some of them like the guy in the wardrobe (the star plush head guy) feel pretty unfair cause there's no indication it will happen before it does which I think kind of fights the game design, there should be some warning for when a wardrobe is being guarded. Would be cool to have a map, I know again you're following your inspiration but Yume Nikki doesn't have traditional game overs like your game does so that's something you need to consider if you continue this,

Unfortunately the game overpowered my mic volume (I lowered it cause it was too loud in the last game I played ૮◞ ‸ ◟ ა  ) and I couldn't adjust it in game without causing an echo but here is my full play through & review

Thank you so much for playing and the feedback! And yes, the music was made by me. I will likely be adding a map of some sort considering navigation issues have been the main feedback I've been getting.

Most of the background images are composed of various images I found or photos taken by me and edited together. Personally I consider it fair game if an image is edited enough to being unrecognizable to the original and can't be reverse image searched. I really like photo-shopped aesthetics, but if it seems like a concern I will replace them fully with edited images made from photos I took myself or drawn graphics.

You can actually run away from star guy after he spawns and use a wardrobe (either a different one or the one he came out of if you manage to get back to it) or a light switch to despawn him again, but I think I made the reaction window for it a bit too tight if you don't start sprinting away from him immediately. I will be making him more forgiving on the time he gives as well as make him a bit slower in the future so it better communicates that it isn't an instant game over if he spawns and to make him more reasonable to deal with in general.

I will also tone down the music just a bit, considering it was loud enough to cause some audio issues on your end while recording.

No yeah I only mentioned the photo shop images because I liked your pixel art and thought you could do more with it in the background it wasn't meant really as a critique. The audio issues is likely JUST on my end I was trying to not adjust game volume cause it caused echos in one of my recordings, but the game is a little loud in comparison to others which can annoy some people it's really just a point of friction not necessarily an issue.

Okay! Thanks again for playing and the critique. I'll still consider changing some of the graphics if the pixel art looks a bit better in comparison. I'll probably be adjusting and adding on to the other graphics (mostly the tileset, it's really scuffed looking), so I may as well if I'm already redoing some stuff.
