I really agree with everything in this paragraph (and immediately thought of FF13, which for all the jokes about corridors, is very much this concept). I do agree that you need more familiarity in a random encounter dungeon where you ideally are meeting the enemy in many different states.

I tried twice and could not get very far but I can see myself coming back to chew on this one more, it's very neat!

okay cool, thank you, very heartening to know my thesis wasn't just crazytalk lol. also i'm glad you decided to read the notes even if you didn't vibe with the game! one thing this project has revealed to me is that people have a way bigger appetite for writing (including unpolished writing) than i do. all the gripes about lazy millennials with no attention span are true except they only apply to me specifically
