Yeah, currently the fish does just *pop* into the scene so I agree that I should have added some kind of warning. At first I thought about adding code like "never spawn too near the player" but I ended up not adding it. In retrospect, I should have just determined on which side the player is and spawn on the other side.

I totally get it, it's impossible to get it all in for a 48 hour jam. I like the idea of it spawning on the other side from the player.
