just... wondering... do you have a timeline?
I mean, I'm fine pausing and plugging my dialogue into a translator or whatever. It's just if there's any time sensitive things like a specifica amount of turns something needs to happen or any quick time events... that can get messy.

No, there is no conditional "timer" in the game. So you can safely use the translator. The only point where the dialogue automatically continues is as a tool to create tension in a particular scene.
