Loving this game!!! but....

I *really* like this game. I've been a fan of lancer and mecha stuff for a good while now, but have basically have no one to play with. Being able to play a single player version is a lot nicer than I expected and I love how the game plays!!! The customization is awesome, the gameplay is nice and snappy and *most* things make sense!

For something that's in the process of being updated and made this is an amazing game, but I feel a few elements can be added to help make the experience a little easier to approach. The main thing I would love to see outside of what's being worked on is a Dictionary of sorts. This is already implemented in a way, when you hover over certain words, but I do think that having a separate section in the main menu just for status effects, game mechanics and other such things would greatly benefit someone who might not understand things like "shredded" or "jammed".  Outside of that small nit pick, I think this game nails it on the head really well! I love the art style, the customizations for both the characters and the mechs are nice and simple and I really enjoy playing around with each of the mechs!

Not relevant to the review at all, but my favorites so far are probably either Tortuga or Swallowtail. They are super fun to play as IMO and really help the team comps :3 (with Tortuga being my favorite tank ofc, especially with the black beard license to do some crazy grapple shenanigans)

In all 9/10, I cannot wait to see what comes next!!

Side note: PLEASE ADD CALIBAN IM BEGGING YOU!!!!

So basically you just want this COMP/CON page to be put into the game.

Among a few extra details like how armor and difficulty work yeah basically :3

Thanks for the note! Yes, honestly COMP/CON is probably the best possible source of such a dictionary – maybe we could add a link to it from an in-game “help” button. I’ll make a note to look into it.

hyperlinking each term to the relevant COMP/CON entry would be a hell of a flex.

This is rarely a problem, but it will require a constant internet connection.

You won't be able to play the game properly in offline mode on your laptop if you want to (because you're on the road or because you live in a place with communication issues).

I think it's much easier to simply add this page from COMP/CON to some directory in the menu, as the OP suggested. If the game isn't multiplayer, it shouldn't constantly depend on an internet connection. Status effects can be learned quickly, but still.

The owners of Lancer could be chill, but unless I am mistaken, copying rules straight from a book like that is frowned upon without some sort of agreement.

Similar to how the Shadowrun character generator Chummer cant list the description of qualities, spells, and the like, but provides a reference page to look it up.

Or similar to Solasta can only use certain official Dnd5 subclasses due to WotCs policy.

I'd love to be wrong, but that's my understanding of these sorts of things.

That sucks if so. But the game should still somehow explain what these effects are, at least when hovering over status icons in the UI — players shouldn't have to guess.
Besides, the system descriptions and attack descriptions are directly copied from the rulebook, and that doesn't seem to be prohibited.
