Quick update on the next release: I was actually right on the edge of pushing out a new build. It included a major overhaul of the roads and roadside deco, plus some of the new crops. The road work alone took a ridiculous amount of patience—fixing the wavy edges meant touching up everything connected to them.
But… fog has always bothered me. It was too thick and too dense, and after putting it off forever and trying every trick—info layer tweaks, environment XML edits, you name it—the only real solution ended up being raising the DEM elevation. I moved the map from the old 4–55 range to 45–95.
The good news: the fog problem is finally solved. The bad news: doing this means I now have to touch up everything on the map. Some objects are a bit too high, some a bit too low, and unless people enjoy their starting vehicles spawning on top of the garage roof, I need to go through and fix it all.
It’s a lot of work, but I’m committed to finishing it. It’ll just take some time.
