I think the game is buggy, because when I tried to pay for my groceries for the second time, I wasn't able to interact with the cashier.
Yes this was a bug we noticed after publishing, you need to go to the short side of the counter the second time around but that was not intentional. Sorry for the confusion, but thank you for playing and taking the time to let us know!
