I’m not familiar with flight-simulators in general, and had a lot of troubles picking up the controls. (Loved it nonetheless.) This game absolutely needs a tutorial mission.

I know there are tutorials in the galley, but these feel like doing homework, and not having immediate context makes it difficult to understand what these thing do and why they are important. Nothing beats being able to do the thing at the same time you’re taught how to do them.

There’s another game I love with a similar vibe and structure as yours, Jet Lancer, which does a great job at setting up its tutorial. You should take example on that.

Depending on what you're using (a keyboard?), I'd highly recommend a controller instead.

Oh I switched from keyboard to controller almost immediately, but that’s not the point here. Using a controller didn’t change the fact that, for example, I didn’t know or care what a high-G turn is until after I had fighters on my tail that I couldn’t shake off.

Thanks for letting me know. I've noticed that the controls can feel very alien to new players. And most players don't seem very interested in the tutorials. Not that I can blame them. Reading the tutorials would not be the first thing I'd wanna do either. My hope was that the player can learn the basics on their own and the tutorials are for those that want to get more familiar with the mechanics.

Admittedly, it's mostly wishful thinking so that I could get away with not making a tutorial. After seeing the player reaction I will seriously consider adding a playable tutorial. I'll study how Jet lancer does it. Thanks for the tip.
