I loved playing LORD back in the day and this takes me right back. All that's missing is the sound of the dial up modem. I had a bit of trouble figuring out the treant and learned to just double up shards on weapons after and carry a bunch with different embues.

It isn’t obvious, but the game does save your progress whenever you transition maps so, if you decide to return to Tide Haven, your adventure may continue.
Regarding the Treant / all enemies, they forecast their next attack which gives you an opportunity to switch armor to defend. If you switch to the correct elemental defense, the enemies will not be able to heal themselves. I tried to put hints about this but I should have been a little more heavy handed with it!
