Just to quickly clear up any misunderstandings. Those last comments in my last post were a joke that may not have been conveyed to those using translation software and/or those with a seriously stunted sense of humor. So, just for clarity, regardless of if you support me financially or not: you all fucking stink. If you've played Realm Invader for even a second, you have been stained with a permanent odor. That's just the kind of rancid game it is.
Anyway, I've got some uh... stuff left to do. Like, writing or whatever... m-maybe rendering or animating... perhaps... no big deal. In all seriousness, that 70-render day I refer to in the title was real and very strange. It's an unusually high stat that I chased on purpose when finally facing my fears and doing a crunch day. I haven't done a day like that in a very long time and it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. It was unpleasant, don't get me wrong, I "wasted" an entire day (actually over 24 hours) and had close to 0 fun outside of the music I was listening to. (I listened to Colors by BTBAM and went straight into Luther Vandross. HELP ME I AM GOING INSANE) It was definitely a reminder that days like this are possible and should be a reasonable sacrifice more often. Especially if I'm less harsh than that single 24hr+ work stretch. The work is hard but I'm not being lazy or underworking as it is, but I think it's a reality check that I've kind of developed a phobia of overworking. I dunno, it's clear I have deep-rooted issues with work-life balance and shit that's gonna be more complicated than me just figuring it out.
In bad news, that I'm not even sure I should be telling you guys at all, I decided to axe a lewd scene from this update because it was way too early, narratively speaking. I actually made this decision months ago but I'm writing the part of the episode where it was about to take place. I hate the fact that I constantly feel like I have to apologize for the amount of porn in my porn game but I need to put my foot down against any kind of whining and crybaby shit I'm constantly subject to. I've already done scenes I'm not a fan of (e.g. Grace in Ep 2 Pt 1) just because I was worried I'm not doing enough. So just a warning: this update is going to be the least horny one so far, and maybe the least horny one ever. I just want to be clear for you guys to meter your expectations. This is a plot/relationship update. It still has porn shit I'm excited for, it's just condensed.
With that bummer paragraph out of the way, I've gotta write/render 2 more chapters. I'll keep you posted on how these develop. It can be hard to eyeball how hard something will be, but I just wanna let you guys know everything is going fine. There have been no major ruts like there were for the last episode where it felt like there was no end in sight for me, it simply feels like a steady, forward movement. So all systems: normal. Ain't that nice?
I'll try to explore the idea of more crunches as it somewhat worked just now. I think the one I just did was a little too dramatic to do often, but something similar and a little less extreme could be a realistic way to address pacing and, if managed correctly, could bridge the gap between my Ep 1 speed and some actual work/life balance.
