Ok, I normally like when a story is bat-shit crazy. I do not mind at all. Every fucking 'Story Rich, Immersive" AVN I have played, has been CRAP. Always a romance story, and always with fuck all sex scenes. 

Normally I find cray cray unbelievable stories, with strange, tenuous associations, flimsy ridiculous justifications, moral rationalizations, and schlock reductive unsinspired monodimensional worlds the BEST in AVNs, because those are worlds which allow the MC to sleep with everyone... and I mean everyone,...his  mom, sister, aunt, doctor, teacher, a judge... and five nuns... at the same time. Cant have that with some serious mature, realistic, narrative.... you get a good story.. but the sexual content always fucking sucks. 

So I SHOULD have been a fan of this game. 

But I am not. I am really fucking not. This game basically gives us a scenario, where a woman grooms the student in her care, and then consents to his being abducted by her sister, and told his old life is over, now he must have a new life, so SHE does not get arrested for her reckless driving occasioning actual bodily harm. 

His friends mourn him. Ash is broken because she loved him. Rick is fucking tru bro, the truest, who sacrifices his own life, to become someone with a little power enough to keep searching for his best friend, who he is sure is not dead and wont give up on. What does he get for his troubles? KILLED. 

Now the MC is living in  household where he has to play his exploiter's little insecure games? 

Nah. I aint got enough pussy for this. I might have continued this game, if the MC got have a threesome with Gina AND Vahge, where one felched the creampie right out the other, had banged Filo the worthless bitch cunt (most annoying slut faced whore in any AVN I played.. Tsundere? Just kill her ffs) half a dozen times already... and even gotten a threesome with Orisse AND Wendy, complete with sis-cum-swap ending... I MIGHT continue. 

But a fun interesting character being made in the bitch of a couple of Pedo whores with family fantasy fixation, being drawn in to some bullshit Filo should have been honest with him about and been his Ride Or Die bitch about, whilst Ash is now just some fuck doll he rams in the hallway, and RICK IS FUCKING DEAD? 

You aint giving me enough sex for that.

I will need to start a whole new game, because it has been so long, I forgot everything, so was a little lost.. but we must always have as much Behr as possible...  100 out of 10 for THAT alone.

OMG. Just began playing, and I LOVE IT. 

I LOVE the MCs cursed face as everyone seems to call it. He looks so hapless, and yet sleazy... and he's a bit of a creep... and I AM SO THERE FOR IT. 

Also... the hapless, comic relief side character BFF bros in these kinds of AVNs, are always good natured, funny, silly, and bit loose, sometimes moronic but endearingly so... and Rick is..  but they normally are just my dudes... cool bros.... but Rick?  LOOK AT HIM. 

Maybe there is one? But usually there is not...   so... WE NEED some freaky, weird, morally ambiguous, hot-ish...slightly... in some atypical way.... side chick character JUST FOR HIM. He DESERVES it. He needs someone to do all the things that face says he will do, once he can do whatever he wants to to a woman.  We then need to hear all about it... maybe even see it ourselves some time. 

Rick is my spirit animal, he NEEDS THIS. 

Because she is so excited about being your girlfriend, anticipating, hoping she does the right thing.

Sorry, even to a cartoon, being a D to some one, is just a bummer. No one wants that. If she was a BAD person, or at least we did not even SEE her thoughts, or know what she felt... then that would be fine... but we are not in that situation.

We're in the situation that this girl is in love with with us, wants more, and we have to AVOID encouraging her, giving her the wrong idea....from a position of having already, to a degree, done so. THAT is NOT COOL. Just real bad vibes yo. 

If you do not understand that, then I guess you are a sociopath. 

Who wants to have to deal with seeing a woman's rejection, being privy to her internal narrative when it happens? NO ONE sane. 

That is why this cheap shot is a fucking mortal sin in the AVN genre, and any game which makes it, is lessened by doing so. There should be NO hurdles, of ANY kind, to the MC pursuing ANYONE in a game like this, at first. If there turns out to be some, they should be of his OWN MAKING, not because the Dev made the worst mistake you can in this kind of game. 

So there will be an update relatively soon? I cannot wait, the intro was teaser that got me salivating, I cannot wait to see more. 

I think we are waiting for an update? I think? I think maybe there is a recent one, not added to this site yet, still being worked on. 

As of the 27th of last month, so like, 2 weeks ago, he posted a V0,9 update report... I could not read it, so I do not know what it says, or how far away it is, but there IS a V.0.9 update, and this game IS actively being worked on. 

Considering how LONG AGO the LAST update was, I imagine this one will be quite large, and we'll get a fair slice of Hot Elf Babe and her homeland. 

The game is a LONG way from finished from what I saw, it is, it seems, in fact, JUST getting STARTED, so I imagine if the dev keeps this up, and actually goes through to completion on the project, it will still be a good year or two away from a complete game. 

Yeah, I noticed that, I kind of feel like this one might have been better served as just being a Visual Novel, drop the A bit, because there are so very FEW Adult scenes, in a relatively long game. 

More, they do not actually make THAT much difference to the narrative at all. Most could be dropped, or replaced with softcore love scenes, or even just shadowplay or Fade To Black, and would be just as impactful, that is to say not much at all... on the story. 

Hopefully we will either get a lot more H scenes... and it actually mean something, and the dev really lean in to that... OR.... they will just do away with them, and perhaps retrospectively nuke the ones already there, dump the Adult tag and release this a VN not an AVN, so we can all just focus on the big magic fights and explosions and such. 

So are we still in development on this one? Is this abandoned? Please tell one of the greatest AVNs I have ever played is not dead!!!!

Might be one to keep an eye on if it is not dead. Good old by the numbers RenPy Harem AVNs are just THE BEST... but this one feels a little early and empty from the looks of things.

Um. No, I can comprehend just fine, sir. 

But that is NOT the point of AVNs. The key is the A bit. 

There's plenty of great games which just use the VN format. Once you add the A bit, you are stuck either narratively, in regards to the adult content, or stuck in regards to narrative strength. They tend, as I just explained, to not be conducive to each other. 

A strong narrative, often means the story finds ways to juts ease in the adult content naturally, and logically, dictated by the story......  but that often means paltry amounts of adult content, often done poorly, without the focus and care it should have. 

A game with a lot of adult content, covering all kinds of fetishes and taboos, by necessity often has to have some fairly absurd, at the least, writing, often times some unbelievable crazy premises, and tenuous associations and logic....  otherwise the scene cannot be set for that intense BDSM Orgy that is a thing in the game... along with many others. 

About the ONLY games which do both naturally, are games where the sexual nature of the MC, or the ultra sexualized nature of the world, are CORE traits not only to the character and world, but the main story plot itself. BUT, that is VERY limiting. 

So, what side should the AVN author fall on? 

It is an A VN, not a VN... the game is meant to be an adult game, with adult content. Adult content at the expense of narrative strength ALWAYS WINS as far as I am concerned. 

Maybe you are playing the wrong kind of games? Perhaps you should seek more mainstream VN format games.

All AVNs should accommodate both Monogamy, Poly AND Harem pathways. A GOOD AVN does NOT hard lock you in to a pathway, or out of an ending if you do not choose that. Only bad writing does that, sorry. 

I have played both. Companion has WAY TOO LITTLE sex for an AVN, and WAY WAY too little for an AVN THAT LONG, sorry.  Cross Realms, indeed, SHOULD just become a VN, and drop the Adult parts, because they really do nothing, in fact, in my review for the game, I say JUST THIS. 

But you have made my point. Games which focus on a realistic, deep, well written narrative.... ALWAYS fail, in regards to their Adult content, just like Companion of Darkness and Cross Realms, unless the MC or the world having a heavy sexual/sexualized nature is written in CORE to the story... because such stories DO NOT lend themselves to copious amounts of wild Sex. 

Sorry, I prefer my AVNs DO have COPIOUS AMOUNTS OF WILD SEX. For that, I will take some tropes, and some simplistic dialogue, and bat shit cray cray prepositions and tenuous associations and logic. If those things are need for the MC to bang his mother, sister (legal) daughter, and his doctor, and lawyer, and (female) best friend, and neighbour, and neighbours daughter, and best friends mother..... whilst on spaceships careening out of control towards blackhole ... wormhole... that will take him to the land of the Space Elves.... where he must fuck the Elf Sorceress Queen in a Sex battle to the death, to save the world from Demoness that has fallen in love with him and been R-wording him most the game.....because you CANNOT have that happen, without some tropes, simplistic dialogue, crazy unrealistic premises. 

But for ME, THAT is MUCH better than some 'narratively realistic and sophisticated immersive story'...... that does not GIVE ME ELF ORGIES and let me bang everyone in my household.. and on my block... multiple times in a week. 

DIK is a Romance game posing as an AVN. The Adult content is limited, and you FAST find yourself PUSHED down a pathway of Monogamy, having to CHOOSE someone, IF you play the Nice route....  

.....so you play the NOT NICE route... and hang out with the Bad Girls... and go down that path, to open up an ending that DOES NOT FORCE A ROMANCE ENDING... and it still FORCES A ROMANCE ENDING. 

To 3 AVN?

There is a patch out for making it incest...  that means it likely WAS at one point.

The Amnesia trope is present in SO MANY AVNs, this is not the first. The Domestic set up, and the Damsel in Distress element, as well as the College thing, as ALL staples of the Genre too. 

I wonder, genuinely, what you people expect? 

I have never found this game unplayable at all, and I have played 100s of AVNs.

Ok this was pretty sweet. 

A lot of content... for ... a lot of teasing... BUT, I guess it was made good in the end..  though... I need Aine.....  I need Elf... all the Elf....but especially Aine....  but also....  Bael.... and Orlaith.... but mostly Aine... 

And of course Cerys... but she wants to feed me the Wards.... so I am down with that. Beginning the game basically Engaged to one girl... even a gorgeous one like Cerys.. had me worried big time...but she cool AF with Harem hijinx, so dat cool.....  which means I NEED AINE :p 

Story is pretty fun too....  the wards all seem engaging, most fuckable... but also, engaging.. so like.. Very keen to see how that shakes out....

All these games, using this MC, are basically games made as passion projects with HxS/HxS2 assets. That is why all the guys, and the girls too for that matter, look the same. 

But is also A) Why they are FREE, as to sell them would be copyright theft, and the company which owns the property is more than willing to bring suit. B) They are usually SO GOOD, because the devs already know how far they can push with Adult scenes, and the engine allows that easily. Does not mean there is not a lot of work, but a little less work than using RenPy architecture, which still needs more animation work, as not all can be copied. This allows, it seems, in my experience, for better writing and character development, if you are a sole dev working as a passion project. 

But the MC does not really matter, in a good AVN... tbh, I have never understood that. What matters is hot women, in long, well 'shot'... paced, lit, angled, controlled, adult scenes. 

If the women are hot, and the adult scenes make Paul Thomas, Andrew Blake and Mario Salieri look amateurs when it comes lush ambient aesthetic erotica.... the MC could look like me and I would not give and fuck... and I make the ManBearPig look sexy, I am so ferally, bestially, ugly I make eyes bleed.. even my own... but would not care, if the adult scenes were hot and female character models sexy.

The camera moving around so much with this one is bad... but the scenes are hot... they let you see it all.... who wants the scenes they have in some AVNs where you just see a side on doggy scene, or are looking just at the butt, or boobs? 

This DOES need facials.... but aside from that, this is PEAK. 

The Aunt? She is HOT AF, not every woman has to be a cliched skinny but curvy anime girl. Not all men think ONLY those women look good. 

Skipping the Adult scenes and just looking for plot in an AVN is like reading Playboy for the Articles... sure, you can do it... but you will find much better elsewhere.... the cornerstone of an AVN is the A  bit, sorry to tell you. 

Ahhh OK, I missing everything between the Strip Blackjack reward, and final scene, save the boobjob at Grace's party (final scene).... so like 5 scenes. They are all full scenes? Ok. 

I will try play a new game lol, see what happens... there is not much content so I am sure I can start over. 

TBH... I rated this game so highly. I wanted to love it. 

No, I truly did. The graphics, ambience, the visual aesthetic, and overall tone... is beautiful. The character models, are beautiful. 

BUT, after this update, I just cant. I cant. It is just too much. 

The story is convoluted, and unclear, and just when something seems to be a little clear to me, it then seems silly or stupid. There is too much happening, no explanations that are CLEAR and concise, and it just takes away the game. This does not feel like a game. It feels like the MC is just there. He almost NO AGENCY, and everyone knows more, has more power, and can do more than he... which makes US, the PLAYER, wholly IMPOTENT for MOST of the game so far. 

The characters, with perhaps the exception of Miriel and Flora...   are ALL DETESTABLE SCUM, complete C*NTS, even the big red sword woman, who's name I do not even recall, because she is a C*NT. They are all such. Reprehensible, rude, arrogant, scum, that are about as endearing as SYPHILIS. 

The only redeeming feature of this game, aside from the pretty dressing... might be the Adult content. Except it is NOT. 

There is F*CK ALL adult content for a game like this. Even with what has already dropped, not considering what is yet to come and early in story we are. There's one abortive fellatio scene, one abortive cunnilingus scene, one short desperate gym quickie scene.. and only one complete scene. But that scene is with Lora, the stupid worthless b*tch who could not walk away, but had to go and get herself Isekai'd to Space Elf land, and in the process got her son killed, and left the MC a broken man. 

She is the most despicable POS of all in this so far it seems. And we are meant to be doing all this FOR HER? Bwhahahahahahahahahah PLEASE! This SIMP MC is the most whipped douche ever simply BECAUSE of THAT. But he KNOWS THAT, that is what is the worst. By now, after everything... he should cease caring one iota about that c*nt.. he even ponders things close to that... but he still does. 

I was hoping this update would lay shit out and make things a lot clear, maybe ease back on the dire edge lord, cliche, try hard badassery for a bit and just make things slow down enough to actually GET EVERYTHING CLEAR. Who is who, what they are doing, and what they want. What is actually going on.  I also thought that in the process, we might actually get something that demonstrates WHY this is being made as an A -VN and not just a VN. But it was just a teasing abortive oral scene... the second by my count. 

This has, to me, now become an exercise in masochism. No thanks. 

I initially wrote a rave review for this game, and gave it 4 out of 5 stars, simply because it was so short and yet unfinished, convinced I would be rating it 5 Stars, 100/10 when it was. 

But I really cant in good conscience now. I just cant. 

If this was all a little different. If we got some clarity on the story in detail, or if the characters were not all such worthless a-holes, or if we got more adult content, or the MC just a little more agency, could give as good a he got sometimes, make some important decisions.... any one of those things... I might have said nothing, and kept my positive view of, and hopes for, this game. 

But there is NO WAY I am lurching about another planet, full of space zombies, dealing with a heap of c*nts, with NO IDEA what is going on... for anything less than copious amounts of Space Elf P*ssy, and Space Neko P*ssy for that matter too... and other P*ssy... I guess what I am saying... is a man will put up with a lot for some good abundant hot space girl p*ssy... but we do not EVEN GET THAT. 

This game does not even need be an AVN. So far, all the adult scenes that have happened...could have been replaced with fade to black, or shadow play, or symbolism, or retrospective confirmation, or innuendo and implication..... even in our MC's slow bonding with Miriel, Flora, and Bar Maid from Earth... that romance, that emotional connection slowly growing...has not been overtly passionate, no overtly sexualized in undertone. Our MC seems not have some super powers, even if it is just an over reliance on post-nut clarity, to negotiate the world, or achieve things otherwise he could not. This game could be a simple VN, relying on NON-EXPLICIT techniques to cover the 'adult' moments... and it not make one iota of difference to the story at all. 

All it seems to be so far, is an overly complex, minimal gameplay, tease fest, that functions as an exercise in masochism for the sake of hot p*ssy..... but hot p*ssy you DO NOT ACTUALL GET. 

Each to their own. 

But this is like, a 2 Star, 4/10 game hiding behind beautiful dressing as far as I can tell now, having played deeper, and the opportunities afforded by the new content not matching my expectations. 

Ahhh... so I DID unlock them? I asked for a kiss instead of seeing more.... when I beat her at Volleyball. So I am guessing they scenes with her exposing a reward? 

There's what, 10 scenes, so far.. and I have a few still locked. Is it safe to assume that if I choose to go to Avrils' party for the Frat test, instead of Grace's that will unlock a few voyeuristic scenes? I am not so worried about those, just the proper adult scenes, so if there are not so many of those maybe I already found all there is. 

OK, I will just bide my time and wait and see where this goes, I enjoyed it so far at least.

I really want to know about the future though...    are we going to get more non romance adult content? 

Right now, if you avoid romance, you basically get some fluff... but it is only about a 1/4 of the content pursuing the LIs gets you. 

But already, I have lost Ashley and Natalaie or Mallory or whatever she is called, because of some rando ho, and being with Roxy. 

I don't want to do that. When you meet the girl you doonted and lost Ashley over, in the gym, the MC thinks to himself "serves me right for thinking I could fuck every girll".... but that is the point of an AVN. Are we going to be railroaded in Romance, or can we chose and polygamy/harem path and actually get content? 

I adore the LIs, to a degree... but missing out on the Mallory+Natalie path, which was thing, and option I have been given... because of Roxy, seems like a bad deal. Likewise, missing out anyone, because any of them are jealous, is bum deal too. 

Will there be a way to negotiate this, or will there be some good content and we NOT miss out a HUGE part of the game, by avoiding clingy love obsessed girls?

I enjoyed this to a degree, but missing so much by trying not to get tied down sucks bad, yet even at this stage of the games development, it seems likely all the LIs paths are going to converge, too many are friends, or know professionally, each other. But the tone has already been set for how that will work out. We lost Ashley, and Roxy's sister, because of both finding out about others. With the PT who is Roxys sister... Natalie? Mallory?  I get it, she is Roxy's SISTER... though I like AVNs where that dont matter.....but not everyone is perverted I get it. But the rest? Seems like they might NOT have to find out about each other, story wise, but that was a conscious decision by the dev. 

I just want to know whats up on that score, so I do not invest any more of myself and waste my time, then get pissed when my MC is hated by all the women, if that is where it is going if you sleep with them all. And I will be wasting my time, because there is NO WAY I am NOT sleeping with them all. Romance Schmomance
