I had the same "controls not responding after respawning" issue, I suspected the game was just paused and was able to fix it by clicking the pause button then unpausing again
its because it was inspired by hollow knight , both have a lot of bugs LOL😂😂😂 (in hollow knigh player enemies..... are all bugs)
