Johnny is a deeply traumatized person. He isnt an evil person necessarily, but you have to admit he is VERY flawed. Moreover, he quite selfish and entitled and is very apathetic towards other's feelings
My friend was one of the best swimmers in the area, he was also quite arrogant. However, he lost all his legs, leaving only tiny appendages.
But now he is the best swimmer in the region in the Paralympic category. Although, as he admitted, it is better to be not the best but healthy than the best but disabled.
