i love that the title is homekeeping. its their hooooome and theyre isolated and keeping to themselves and what it means to them varies by person and status. also i love each of their flaws .. i think rutile's resentment of alle is reasonable because despite every consideration of alle to treat her as an equal(?) in role she never does give her a raise and retains their gap in lifestyle and ease/comfort. i really love their dynamic. shes ignorant in the assumption that rutile would be satisfied as is, though not deliberately keeping it that way like calcite. ahhhh im almost done with the alle ending now and its so so so so sweet. lovely music. this is the most affectionate ending despite everything. some of her arrogance and assumptive nature is kept from the 'until next time' and dead silence without a reply in contrast to rutile's 'goodbye'. especially emphasized by the 'how can you live without me'. i loooove them. this truly was homekeeping (its their home) (they kept their home and kept by themselves inside the home ... homekeeping). it saddens me that rutile believes in it and plays into it by continuing to be her maid and referring to alle as her mistress with gratitude. its still awful for rutile but its my favorite ending just because of its sweetness. at the very least theyre comfortable together despite the codependency. the beloved painting of The Maid .... her work and the resolution of their lives and relationship ended in her work being exposed to the light of the world after all, without the constraints of their past lives and criticism of society. i love that rutile was immortalized in the kinder way of art after all the talk about death and remembrance. i think this one game is my favorite from the spica arsenal of games just because of these characters.
