Okay, feedback. I liked the game, but if you were eager on improving upon the horror then it could’ve used more varied paranormal occurrences and animations that reflect that. And if not that, then it could’ve used fewer so as to not become stale quickly to the player during exploration.
Key thing to consider is that when you’re doing a horror title that happens to be heavy on narrative such as adventure games commonly do, you are usually better off keeping things minimal and more atmosphere driven.
Just kind of letting the story and general visual design do the heavy lifting for you. But overall, coupled with that ending this had enough of a distinct feel in the execution to offer, that I didn’t mind it much and the average person looking for a quick little adventure shouldn’t either.
Edit: Oh, and I should probably add that the manner in which the conclusion plays out retained some of the (for a lack of a better word) stale/bland feeling in terms of how it’s presented. Say, the character could’ve moved his hand when picking up the phone to make the call and such and so it circles back to the variety aspect I touched upon near the start. Though, it’s easier to overlook with low productions and indie games when compared in juxtaposition to every other aspect at play that brings it whole. Especially when the pros are the norm rather than the exception. It is how I typically evaluate and attempt to critique them with fairness in my head.
