This is my frist time updateing a game like this will downloading the new .apk delete old saves or is it just like getting an update in the Google play store?
It's won't delete anything hopefully and will work as usual. I play on Android and it's working fine.
Don't delete the old app. Install the new one over it. That will keep your save file intact.
Just update it and you're able to delete the old version for more storage space
