download the binaries for your machine - no need for an external program.
Raspberry Pi requires the use of a program to open the app. Unless I’m misunderstanding something here.

I tried and my Raspberry Pi tried to get me to choose an app to launch it with.

There’s no error, my Pi just wants me to choose an application to launch Poom with.
I'm assuming you're using RPi Ubuntu? Right click -> Properties, Make sure it is marked Executable as Program, then try again.
I’m using the Trixie Raspberry Pi OS. Would that work with Trixie as well?
