I think you nailed a lot of the themes. The directional slow-jumping ball thing is a fun mechanic.

I did work as a "book narrator" in the past, I am a bit rusty, I have to practice! Hahah
Sorry for the frustration and the buggy platforming! actually that exact platform you pasted is the reason why I put the "reload" room input (I should have put a visible on-screen button actually), a friend sent me a similar screenshot but it was late and my solution was the reload button hahaha.
Also I learnt that I have so much more toclearn about platforming xD
