i got so excited at seeing the opening cutscene; i think it's the first time i've seen a cutscene in this game jam. the idea for taking photos really incentivizes  you to look around and explore the amazing world. the crab moving was INSANE, and the progression of your reaction to him waking up was really well done. everything i did felt like it had an impact and that felt amazing. i did get stuck while falling off the cliff with the jellyfish though. out of curiosity, how were you able to identify what objects were in frame of the camera so you could display the appropriate messages and advance the cutscenes?

Sorry that you got stuck (you are not supposed to go in the jellyfishes pond), there are invisible walls to prevent falling but I guess I missed a few spots. It's a shame because it's just before the best 2 scenes. (you can always restart and come back here in 2 minutes, though).

To get the objects in the frame each I check if every target's collider is inside the camera frustrum, then I use a raycast to check if nothing is blocking the view. (but this system is a bit glitchy and sometimes detects objects incorrectly)

i did restart and come back!! it was genuinely magical and i loved the animation on the giant spider and the chirp of those flying creatures haha.thanks for letting me know how you did it. it wasn't buggy at all in my case ;)
