Really awesome game! Great art, story, and interesting concepts. The mini-games were especially fun. My only critique is that the writing sounds (not saying it is) a bit algorithmic.

I’m not accusing you of using AI. Especially because it says “No AI” in the tags. It’s absolutely everywhere, and it can be easy to subconsciously pick up the way it words things, it copies the way that we write, so you are really not to blame.

There’s been some places where the writing seems a little formulaic to me. Lots of similes, rules of 3, and phrases like “too ___.” Or “Not ___. Just ____.” While these techniques aren’t bad by themselves, they’re very commonly used by generated algorithms. When used repeatedly and put next to each other in close succession, it can seem jarring. Especially when I read “The lamp beside the door casts a soft glow across the room — warm, comforting, familiar.”

This was just meant to be constructive criticism, and you of course do not have to follow it, and I really did enjoy the game, you did an amazing job!

Although you mean well, this is absolutely not the move or helpful. "read lots of books or fanfics and learn how to recognize moments where your writing sounds ChatGPT-y, and rephrase them." AI is trained off books and writing. People should NOT have to change how they write just because you think it sounds like AI. Where do you think the AI got all that writing from. Unless you have concrete proof other than vibes and assumptions, do not start hinting or accusing artists of using AI. At best it's unhelpful and at worst its inciting harassment.

I’m sorry. My intentions were never to harass at all, like my comment said, and I revised it to sound less like I did, and I no longer insist that they change their writing.

While you are right that artificial algorithms learned from us, it’s still helpful to read human material in general, because each author has their own writing style, which you don’t see in generated content (usually AI has only one particular prose which is very easy to spot)

If a creator has to change their writing style to sound “less like AI,” maybe the bigger issue is that AI is getting unnecessarily advanced to the point that it can now mimic human mannerisms. There’s no such thing as a human’s writing “sounding robotic.” The real problem is that the robots are starting to sound too human, and critiques like these just discourage creators from making content.

I totally understand how you feel, and I feel really guilty at the possibility of my criticism putting down the creator, which was not my intention, and I’m really sorry T-T

You’re right, these writing techniques all originated from humans. But it can become formulaic when these techniques are applied repeatedly in very close succession, and AI does not write exactly like a human, because it overuses these patterns, and because each person has their own writing style.

Anyway, your criticism is valid. I want to say though, that I’m absolutely not trying to place blame or accuse the writer, as the other comment said, I have no concrete proof. I’ll rephrase my comment to sound less accusatory.

Thank you for your input...However, I can 100% assure you that I am against any and all types of AI. I don't have a prewritten script, and I write everything along with the code straight into my software, which is what causes most inconsistencies. I've always used the em dash in my writing for school papers and such and tried to avoid it as much as possible while writing the script for this game, but that one got by me. I write like how I speak and describe things in real life, so I do apologize if it comes off as AI generated, but that's genuinely just how I type.

Woah, a reply?! I see, thank you so much for the insight, it is really interesting to know the process behind things, and I’d like to apologize for the small discourse I caused. Like many others I’ve been following you on social media and will 100% continue to support. And there’s no need to apologize at all, that misunderstanding is all my (and AI’s) fault, I really value your work, and I look forward to seeing more in the future!
