I haven't played this kind of game before, so it was a bit of a reverse-engineering effort to understand what's going on. I just started hitting "dig" and trying to understand what "DRILL DENIED" meant, or if the oil was good. Eventually I got there, and started actually applying some strategy... then I realised I was getting a bit addicted, and also I felt smart for figuring it out - so double win. I love the aesthetic - really set the mood (I loved the soundtrack too - it's zany!)

👋 Thanks so much for playing! 😄
I wasn’t able to time the onboarding as well as I hoped, so I wanted to share a quick breakdown to make things clearer. 💡
🛢️ Oil
- Every dig costs oil — you’ll see the cost on the left.
- The deeper you go, the more oil each dig costs.
- What does oil do? It protects your drill from damage.
- If you have 0 oil, you take 1 unavoidable drill damage each dig.
⛏️ Pickaxes
- Pickaxes are used to break blocks.
- If your pickaxe power ≥ block toughness, you take no damage (unless you’re out of oil).
- If your pickaxe power is lower than the block toughness, wrenches can cover the missing amount!
🔧 Wrenches
- Think of wrenches as temporary shields.
- If you’re short on pickaxe power, wrenches prevent damage (as long as you still have at least 1 oil).
- No oil = you still take the unavoidable 1 damage.
💎 Gems
- Gems give extra resources on top of what the block normally provides. Sparkly bonuses! ✨
🚫 Drill Denied
- This shows up when you don’t have any pickaxes available.
🎰 Jackpots
Jackpots always clear the block and give special bonuses:
- 🛢️ Oil Jackpot: The dig costs no oil
- 💎 Gem Jackpot: 2× gems from that dig
- ⛏️ Pickaxe Jackpot: +1 pickaxe power on your next dig
- 🔧 Wrench Jackpot: +1 drill HP (heals your drill)
