We didn't clarify it anywhere but you need to hold LMB for the sonar to work (hope that it can solve your problem), thanks for the feedback!
Ok, I replayed the game, and it changed everything for me. This implementation of the sonar idea is simply amazing. I think you could do a lot with this as the main feature of a game! Nice work!
